Lingua Franca Scholarship Statistics Year 2023/24

Základní popis aktuálního ročníku LFS a informace ke spolupracujícím gymnáziím/středním školám

Basic description of the current year of LFS and information on the cooperating grammar schools schools.

  • Ve školním roce 2023/24 proběhl druhý ročník LFS.
  • Díky našim podporovatelům a dárcům se nám podařilo udržet počet udělených stipendií na 50 % z celkového počtu přihlášených. Velice si této podpory vážíme a upřímně děkujeme všem, kteří se rozhodli podpořit naši myšlenku. 
  • Celkový počet spolupracujících středních škol (SŠ) byl rozšířen na sedm, ke spolupracujícím SŠ se přidalo Gymnázium Františka Xavera Šaldy z Liberce.
  • Z celkového počtu sedmi spolupracujících SŠ se o stipendium ucházely studentky a studenti z pěti středních škol, což představuje 71% zapojení spolupracujících škol (Tabl.1) .


  • In the school year 2023/24, the second year of the LFS took place. Thanks to our supporters and donors, we have managed to keep the number of scholarships awarded at 50% of the total number of applicants. We greatly appreciate this support and sincerely thank everyone who has chosen to support our cause. The total number of cooperating secondary schools (SŠ) was expanded to seven, with the addition of the Gymnasium František Xavers Šalda from Liberec. Out of the seven cooperating SŠ, students from five secondary schools applied for the scholarship, which represents 71% participation of the cooperating schools (Table 1).

  • Počet uchazečů o stipendium se oproti předcházejícímu prvnímu ročníku zvýšil o 33 %.
  • Druhého ročníku LFS se zúčastnilo 12 studentek a studentů z pěti SŠ, z toho 50% (n=6) žen (Tabl.2). 
  • Počet oceněných studentek a studentů z celkového počtu byl 50 % (n=6, Tabl.1), z tohoto počtu bylo 60 % (n=3) žen (Tabl.1).
  • Jeden student se primárně ucházel a získal certifikát CPE (o úroveň výšší než CAE), tento student získal LFS a je započítán v přehledové statistice, ale není započítán ve výsledkové statistice pro CAE (Tabl.2) . 


  • The number of applicants for the scholarship increased by 33% compared to the previous first year. 12 students from five secondary schools participated in the second year of the LFS, 50% (n=6) of whom were female (Table 2). The number of awarded students out of the total number was 50% (n=6, Table 1), of which 60% (n=3) were female (Tabl.1). One student primarily applied for and obtained a CPE certificate (one level higher than CAE), this student obtained LFS and is counted in the overview statistics but is not counted in the outcome statistics for CAE (Tabl.2) .

The results overall
  • Pro získání CAE certifikátu je nutný zisk 180 a více bodů, maximální možný počet dosažených bodů je 210 podle Cambridge English Scale.
  • Maximální získaný počet bodů ve druhém ročníku LFS byl 206. Medián dosaženého počtu bodů v druhém ročníku LFS byl 203 bodů, mezikvartilové rozpětí 4,5 bodů (Tbl.2). 
  • 9,1 % (n=1) účastníků dosáhlo úrovně C1 - C, 9,1 % (n=1) účastníků dosáhlo úrovně C1 - B a 81 % (n=9) účastníků dosáhlo úrovně C1 - A, a tím se posunuli na jazykovou úroveň C2 (Obr.1).


  • To obtain the CAE certificate, a score of 180 or more is required, the maximum possible score is 210 according to the Cambridge English Scale. The maximum score in the second year of the LFS was 206. The median number of points achieved in the second year of the LFS was 203 points, with an interquartile range of 4.5 points (Tbl.2). 9.1% (n=1) of participants achieved C1-C level, 9.1% (n=1) of participants achieved C1-B level and 81% (n=9) of participants achieved C1-A level, thus moving to C2 language level (Fig.1).

  • Maximální získaný počet bodů ve druhém ročníku LFS byl 206. Medián dosaženého počtu bodů v aktuálním ročníku LFS byl 205 bodů, mezikvartilové rozpětí 2 body (Tabl.3). 


  • The maximum number of points obtained in the second year of the LFS was 206. The median score in the current year of the LFS was 205 points, with an interquartile range of 2 points (Table 3).
